Mentorship

The Mentorship Committee

The Mentorship Committee is an integral part of E2@Mac’s mission, as we aim to provide as many resources to help connect students to university and all of its opportunities as possible. Our committee currently directs the Empower2gether community children's art magazine with Empowerment Squared, and also works on building workshops, events, and programs for youth in Hamilton.

Empower2gether

Empower2gether is a collaborative project managed by the E2@Mac team in partnership with Empowerment Squared's Homework Circle program. Launched in Winter 2021, the E2@Mac team runs a 5 week-long art program with these youth to give them a platform on which they can express their creativity and reflect on in the future.

The next session of Empower2gether will run in Spring 2022 - watch out on our social media! We'll be looking for designers to help us put the magazine together.

The Workshop Program

The Mentorship committee hosts educational workshops for youth at Homework Circle to better connect them to academic and extracurricular opportunities and open up pathways to university and beyond.

We recruit speakers from the McMaster student body who are interested in sharing their stories with youth in the Hamilton community, and in helping students pursue career pathways that they're passionate about.

If you're interested in joining us as a speaker, or have any ideas for workshops, email the VP Mentorship, Jonathan Monteiro, at montej2@mcmaster.ca
